Snack Attack, Now Cheaper: GST 2.0 Slashes Prices on Your Pantry Faves

In a major relief for consumers across India, the government’s latest Goods and Services Tax reform—dubbed GST 2.0—has triggered a wave of price cuts on popular food and beverage brands. Effective from September 22, 2025, the revised tax structure simplifies the earlier four-tier system into just two slabs: 5 percent and 18 percent. Amul’s dairy delights now more wallet-friendly

Amul has announced price cuts across more than 700 products, passing on the full benefit of the GST reduction to consumers. The Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation, which owns Amul, expects the move to stimulate demand for its dairy offerings.

- Amul butter (100g) now costs ₹58, down from ₹62  
- Amul ghee (1L) has dropped by ₹40 to ₹610  
- Paneer (200g) is priced at ₹95, earlier ₹99  
- Amul processed cheese block (1kg) is now ₹545, reduced by ₹30  
- Ice cream packs start at ₹9, previously ₹10  

Maggi and Nescafé join the price cut wave

Nestlé India has responded swiftly to GST 2.0 by revising prices on its most popular products, including Maggi noodles and Nescafé coffee.

- Maggi instant noodles (600g) now retail at ₹116, down from ₹120  
- Nescafé Classic (45g) is reduced by ₹30 to ₹235  
- Nescafé Gold (200g) now costs ₹755, a ₹95 reduction  

Real Juice and Dabur’s health range get leaner on price

Dabur has trimmed prices across its beverage and health supplement portfolio, making nutritious choices more accessible.

- Real Juice (1L) is now ₹122, down from ₹130  
- Chyawanprakash (900g) has dropped from ₹475 to ₹440  
- Hajmola digestive tablets (120 tabs) now cost ₹65, earlier ₹70  

Mother Dairy joins the affordability bandwagon

Mother Dairy has slashed prices on over 150 products, including milk, ghee, and frozen snacks. While pouch milk remains exempt from GST and unchanged, other items have seen notable reductions.

- UHT milk tetra packs are cheaper by ₹2  
- Ghee (1kg) is down by ₹30  
- Cheese cubes (180g) now cost ₹135, earlier ₹145  
- Flavoured milkshakes (180ml) are priced at ₹28, down from ₹30  
- Safal Frozen French Fries (400g) now retail at ₹95, previously ₹100  

Tropicana, Aquafina and more from PepsiCo get a refresh

PepsiCo’s distributor Varun Beverages has revised prices on its juice and water offerings.

- Tropicana Apple Juice (1L) is now ₹105, down from ₹115  
- Mango Slice (1.2L) has dropped to ₹65 from ₹70  
- Aquafina bottled water (1L) is now ₹18, earlier ₹20  

Other notable reductions across FMCG brands

- Nutella (350g) by Ferrero is now ₹399, down ₹50  
- Ferrero Rocher (300g) is priced at ₹879, reduced by ₹100  
- ITC’s cow ghee (1L) is now ₹1,010, down from ₹1,080  
- Sunfeast Marie Light biscuits (956g) are ₹150, earlier ₹170  
- HUL has cut prices on Horlicks, Kissan Jam, Bru Coffee, and more
