Sowing Success: India's Seeds Set to Conquer Global Markets with IPR Boost

Experts in a recent conference hosted by the Federation of Seed Industry of India (FSII) and government officials stressed that India's seed industry would be able to dominate international trade if they were shielded by a strong Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) regime. The conference underlined the need for stricter regulatory systems to protect seed innovation and fight against counterfeit goods. Chairperson of PPVFRA, Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, said that provisions for enhancing interim protection and IPR violation penalties are being prepared. Industry experts urged capacity building programs, publicity campaigns, and better coordination among public and private sectors to unleash India's strength in the global seed market.
