Space Odyssey Ends: Wilmore and Williams' 9-Month Stellar Sojourn Concludes

NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams are finally heading home after an unexpected 9-month stay on the International Space Station. The two astronauts, who originally launched in June 2024 for a scheduled week-long mission, had seen their mission delayed several times because of technical problems on their Boeing Starliner spacecraft. Their relief crew, Crew-10, arrived safely at the ISS on Sunday, setting the stage for Wilmore and Williams' return. The experienced astronauts are now set to leave no earlier than March 19 on a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, ending their extended mission. Both astronauts were gracious despite the delays, performing scientific experiments and keeping the space station in good working order.
