SpaceX Fram2: Humanity’s First Polar Orbit Adventure

SpaceX has marked a historic first with the successful launch of its Fram2 mission, the initial human spaceflight to orbit around Earth over both the North and South Poles. The Crew Dragon spacecraft, which had on board an international crew of four astronauts, launched on March 31 from NASA's Kennedy Space Center on a Falcon 9 rocket. This historic mission is rewriting human space exploration with its unprecedented polar path.

Headed by mission commander Chun Wang, who is also a cryptocurrency entrepreneur, the crew also consists of German pilot Rabea Rogge, Norwegian documentary filmmaker Jannicke Mikkelsen, and Australian explorer Eric Philips. In the coming three to five days, the crew will have 22 experimental tests in low Earth orbit that are designed with innovation. It includes the historic X-ray photography of the human body in space, muscle and bone condition examinations in microgravity, and cultivation experiments on fungi to determine space food sustainability.

Fram2 mission also provides unprecedented vistas of Earth's polar regions, making it possible to study atmospheric events such as auroras. Nodding in respect to the historic polar explorer ship Fram, the astronauts have a fragment of its legacy aboard. Not only does this mission advance technological limits but also inspires curiosity about what the future of humanity holds in space.
