SpaceX Rocket Debris Forces Qantas Flight Delays: A Rare Collision of Air and Space

These disruptions are attributed to the re-entry of SpaceX rocket debris over the southern Indian Ocean, a designated splashdown area for such events. The U.S. government has been advising airlines about these re-entries, leading Qantas to adjust its flight schedules accordingly. Ben Holland, head of Qantas's operations center, noted that last-minute changes in the timing and location of these re-entries have necessitated sudden flight delays. Qantas is in discussions with SpaceX to refine re-entry schedules and minimize future disruptions.
