Spicing Up the Indian Ocean: Modi Adds Flavor to Mauritius-India Relations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming excursion to Mauritius on March 11-12, 2025, will be another of those hurdles cleared in India's ongoing fight for its place in the international arena. Modi's role as the Chief Guest at Mauritius' National Day celebrations will reaffirm the entwined historic-cum-cultural connections between the duo. This visit aims to promote India's commitment to its Vision SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) policy. Key infrastructure projects being inaugurated with assistance from India in the course of the visit include Civil Service College and Area Health Centre . The strengthening of such bonds will be further underscored, on the very day of the celebrations, by the participation of members from the Indian Defence Forces and a naval ship. Further, with around multiple MoUs to sign in addition to meeting various political andy community leaders, this visit seeks to strengthen India's standing and influence in the Indian Ocean region.
