The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the establishment of an International Potato Research Centre in Agra, a move set to revolutionize potato farming and research in India. This initiative aims to address challenges faced by farmers, such as limited access to high-quality seeds and region-specific research, while boosting productivity and innovation in the potato sector.  

Agra, located in the heart of Uttar Pradesh's potato belt, will serve as a hub for advanced research and value-added production. Farmers will benefit from access to cutting-edge research, modern farming techniques, and improved seed varieties, enhancing their income potential. The initiative aligns with the state’s goal of becoming a leader in agricultural innovation and sustainability.
