Standard Chartered India Appoints P.D. Singh as New CEO, Signaling Strategic Growth

Standard Chartered Bank has announced P.D. Singh as its new Chief Executive Officer for India, effective April 1, 2025. Singh is a senior banking executive with over 20 years of professional experience, will take over from Zarin Daruwala, who will retire after nearly a decade of leadership. A former JP Morgan India head, he has great expertise in corporate banking and strategic leadership. His appointment complements Standard Chartered's ambitious plan for the Indian market, which centers on cross-border financial solutions and wealth management. With around 100 branches across 42 cities, the bank seeks to strengthen its position in India's banking sector, challenging as it is, under Singh's stewardship.
