Storm Watch: Gujarat on Orange Alert as Arabian Sea Depression Nears; Mumbai Braces for Light Rain

A weather system developing over the east-central Arabian Sea is intensifying and heading toward Gujarat’s coastline. The IMD has placed several districts under an orange alert, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and wind speeds reaching 30–40 km/h. The system is a remnant of Cyclone Montha, which earlier impacted parts of Goa and Maharashtra.

Mumbai is forecast to receive light to moderate rain, with warnings issued for high waves and squally conditions along the coast. Fishermen have been advised to avoid venturing into the sea. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely and urging residents to follow safety advisories and stay indoors during peak weather hours.
