Switch On Savings: MSEDCL's Power Amnesty Scheme Extended

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has prolonged its Power Amnesty Scheme until March 31, 2025. The scheme, introduced on September 1, 2024, provides relief to consumers with outstanding electricity bills by exempting interest and late payment charges. The deadline was extended following immense consumer demand for more time to settle their dues. To date, 93,848 consumers have availed of the scheme, paying Rs. 130 crore as pending bills. The scheme permits consumers to make part payment of their dues initially, and the balance is paid in six equated monthly installments. MSEDCL gives rebates for lump sum payment: 10% for low-voltage domestic and consumers, and 5% for high-voltage industrial and commercial consumers.
