Tata Motors Revises EV Sales Target to 30% of Total Passenger Vehicle Sales by 2030

Tata Motors has revised its electric vehicle (EV) sales projection, now aiming for EVs to constitute 30% of its total passenger vehicle sales by 2030, a reduction from the previously stated 50%. This adjustment aligns with the company's anticipated 18-20% market share of India's projected 6 million annual passenger vehicle sales by FY2030, translating to approximately 1-1.2 million units. Consequently, Tata Motors expects to sell between 300,000 to 400,000 EVs annually by the end of the decade, a significant increase from the current annual sales of 73,000 units. This strategic shift reflects a more measured approach to the evolving EV market dynamics in India.
