Tata Power Renewable Energy Powers Ahead with Milestone Achievements

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Company Ltd, has reached a significant milestone by achieving a total renewable energy capacity of 10.9 GW. This includes 5.5 GW of operational capacity, comprising 4.5 GW of solar and 1 GW of wind energy, and 5.4 GW under various stages of implementation. The ongoing projects are expected to be completed in phases over the next 6 to 24 months, further solidifying TPREL's position as a leader in India's renewable energy sector.

 

In addition to this achievement, TPREL has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NTPC Limited for a 200 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project. The project, spread across multiple locations in India, will utilize a combination of solar, wind, and battery energy storage system (BESS) technologies. It is expected to generate approximately 1,300 million units of electricity annually, mitigating over 1 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year. The PPA includes a commitment to deliver four-hour peak power supply with at least 90% availability during peak demand hours, supporting the growing energy needs of distribution companies.
