Telangana's DNA Revolution: Can This Tiny State Become India's Biotech Behemoth?

Telangana is set to launch India's first standalone Life Sciences Policy, looking to position itself as a world leader in biotech and healthcare innovation. The initiative was announced by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at BioAsia 2025, where plans were made to create next-generation areas such as cell and gene therapy, genomics, and precision medicine. The policy will facilitate the mega Green Pharma City project, already drawing Rs 11,100 crore in investment and likely to generate more than 22,300 jobs. With 10 new pharma villages coming up between the ORR and RRR, Telangana is likely to generate more than 5 lakh jobs, making the state a life sciences innovation and manufacturing powerhouse.
