Ten Stadiums, One Dream’: Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah Fuels India’s 2036 Olympic Aspirations

Union Minister Amit Shah announced that, with a plan of building ten big stadiums in Ahmedabad's Sardar Patel Sports Complex, India is making its case for the host of the 2036 Olympics. The ambitious project was budgeted at Rs 4,600 crore and is supposed to develop world-class facilities beside the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium. Shah said these venues would have immense importance in fulfilling India's Olympic vision. Besides this, another Rs 316.82 crore 'Para High Performance Centre' was kicked off in Gandhinagar for supporting para-athletes. The Gujarat government has set up a special company called 'Gujarat Olympic Planning and Infrastructure Corporation' to undertake the development of the 350-acre sports enclave, expected to be completed by 2030.
