Thailand Opens Doors Wider: Work Experience No Longer a Barrier for Foreign Professionals

In a strategic move to enhance its appeal to foreign professionals, Thailand has updated its Long-Term Resident (LTR) visa program. The government has removed the five-year minimum work experience requirement for the Highly Skilled Professionals and Work-from-Thailand Professionals categories, making it more accessible to emerging industry experts. Additionally, the corporate revenue requirement for overseas employers sponsoring Work-from-Thailand Professionals has been reduced from $150 million to $50 million over the past three years. These changes aim to position Thailand as a global hub for talent and investment.
