Thane Railway Station Gears Up for Major Upgrades, Faces Temporary Disruptions

In a recent development, authorities have prohibited the entry of auto-rickshaws, bikes, and taxis on the road connecting to Thane Railway Station near Platform 1. This restriction is likely part of ongoing infrastructure improvements at the station. The Central Railway is currently undertaking a significant project to extend platforms at various stations, including Thane, to accommodate 24-coach trains. The 63-hour megablock that began on Thursday has affected suburban services, with 930 suburban locals cancelled. These changes aim to enhance the station's capacity and improve long-distance travel options. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and use alternative routes or transportation methods to access Platform 1.
