OpenAI's flagship AI chatbot, ChatGPT, is back online after an unexpected three-hour outage sent shockwaves across the globe on July 16, 2025. Users from North America, Europe, Asia, and especially India woke up to login failures, “unusual activity detected” errors, and completely blank chat screens as ChatGPT, Sora, Codex, and the GPT API ground to a halt.
