The Digital Divide Deepens: Only One-Third of Indian Schools Have Working Computers

The current UDISE+ report indicates that there is a wide digital divide in Indian schools. Shockingly, only 32% have working computers, and 53% have the internet. The rates for basic amenities in the schools are more than 90%. However, the technological setup in schools prevents these facilities from being realized into good education. This disagreement places a clear picture of where investment in digital resources should be focused to give an equal chance to every student to learn. Addressing these gaps is crucial for advancing India's educational goals and achieving universal access by 2030.
