The Illusion of Love: How a Fake Brad Pitt Scammed a French Woman Out of Her Life Savings

A French woman has been victimized by a sophisticated scam in which she lost €830,000 ($850,000) to fraudsters posing as Hollywood star Brad Pitt. The 53-year-old woman believed she was in a romantic relationship with the actor, leading her to divorce her husband and transfer her life savings over a year and a half. Scammers used fake social media accounts and AI-generated images to convince her that Pitt needed financial help for kidney treatment. The surprise was when she learned of Pitt's real-life relationship with Ines de Ramon. This incident points out the dangers of online scams on vulnerable people.
