The Indian Navy's First Training Squadron-Making Waves with Vietnam

The First Training Squadron, with INS Tir and ICGS Veera, of the Indian Navy landed at Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam, on February 20, 2025, shores of deep-held friendship and growing partnership between the two marine nations. Training exchanges, professional discussions, and community work (visiting the Vietnam Naval Academy) are planned during the visit. The deployment would culminate in a joint naval exercise to improve the Interoperability of two navies. This initiative implements India's vision of Security and Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR), which aims to strengthen regional maritime security and connections.
