The Oxygen Elite: Seven Countries on Top

A recent study by IQAir shows that seven nations globally satisfied the World Health Organization's (WHO) tough air quality standards in 2024. The countries are Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Estonia, Grenada, Iceland, and New Zealand. In contrast, the majority of the world's population inhales dirty air, and Chad and Bangladesh were the most polluted nations, followed by Pakistan and the Democratic Republic of Congo. India is fifth in the world in air pollution, with 13 of its cities being placed in the top 20 most polluted cities in the world. Byrnihat in Assam is reported to be the most polluted city in the world. Although there has been a decline of 7% in PM2.5 levels in India, the nation is still way short of WHO standards.
