Tiger on the Run: Idukki's Forest Department on The Hunt for a Safe Capture

The Kerala Forest Department has stepped up efforts to catch a tiger that was seen in Vandiperiyar, Idukki, after residents complained of its presence near habitations. Prohibitory orders have been in place in Ward 15 of Vandiperiyar Grama Panchayat to avert human-wildlife conflicts. The tiger, suspected to be hurt, would be tranquilized and shifted to Thekkady for treatment. The operation is intended to achieve both public and tiger safety. The actions of the forest department are part of regular measures to keep wildlife in the area under control.
