TRAI Unveils Groundbreaking Changes to National Numbering Plan

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released recommendations for revising the National Numbering Plan, addressing the growing demand for telecom resources. Key changes include a shift to 10-digit landline numbers and the requirement to dial '0' for fixed-line to fixed-line calls. This move aims to streamline the numbering system, enhance resource utilization, and prepare for future technological advancements. The recommendations also focus on combating spam calls and improving caller identification services. Implementation is expected within six months, marking a significant step in India's telecom evolution.
