Legal changes are being made to enhance transparency and accountability in the operations of all cooperative societies, ranging from grass-root level PACS to big multi-state societies.

Empowering Rural Communities

The ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’ Yojana is designed to convert agriculture from a loss-making sector into a generator of rural employment, especially supporting women, marginalized groups, and local entrepreneurs.
Special emphasis is being placed on allied sectors such as animal husbandry and fisheries, with cooperative-driven schemes being rolled out to uplift the economic conditions of rural populations, including those in coastal and remote areas.

Comprehensive Reforms and Oversight

The Ministry of Cooperation, headed by Amit Shah at the national level, is carrying out audits of all cooperative societies to ensure effective management, transparent elections, and proper utilization of funds.
