The Umeed Programme continues to transform lives, making women belonging to disadvantaged groups economically self-sufficient and socially integrated. With over 80,000 self-help groups (SHGs) functioning in Jammu and Kashmir alone, the programme has empowered over 7 lakh women since its launch in 2019. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah recently lauded the success of the programme, highlighting its potential as a national model for women empowerment.
