Union Budget 2025: Major Relief as 36 Life-Saving Medicines Exempted from Customs Duty

In a groundbreaking announcement during the Union Budget 2025, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman revealed that 36 life-saving medicines will be fully exempt from customs duty. This pivotal decision aims to alleviate the financial burden on patients suffering from cancer and rare diseases, making essential treatments more accessible. Additionally, 37 more medicines and 13 patient assistance programs will also benefit from this exemption. This initiative underscores the government's commitment to enhancing healthcare affordability in India, particularly amid rising cancer cases.
