Uno Minda To Acquire Remaining 49.9% Stake In JV With Friwo

Uno Minda Limited has announced plans to acquire the remaining 49.9% stake in its joint venture, UnoMinda EV Systems (UMEV), from partner FRIWO Geratebau GmbH for ₹195 crore. This acquisition will give Uno Minda full ownership of UMEV, a company specializing in advanced electric vehicle components for two- and three-wheelers. The deal includes the transfer of intellectual property rights, technical expertise, and the R&D team related to e-drive technologies from FRIWO's facilities in Germany and Vietnam. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of Q1 FY 2026. This strategic move aims to strengthen Uno Minda's position in the rapidly growing Indian electric vehicle market, particularly in the two-wheeler segmen.
