Update or Be Vulnerable: Indian Government Warns Android Users of Hacking Risks

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a high-severity alert for Android users, warning of multiple vulnerabilities in devices running older versions of the operating system. These flaws could allow hackers to steal sensitive data, gain unauthorized control, or even crash devices entirely.  

The vulnerabilities stem from weaknesses in the Android system framework, Google Play updates, and hardware components from manufacturers like MediaTek and Qualcomm. CERT-In has flagged Android versions prior to 13, 14, and 15 as particularly at risk, urging users to update their devices immediately to mitigate potential threats.  

This alert is a wake-up call for millions of Android users in India and worldwide, emphasizing the importance of regular software updates and cautious app downloads. By addressing these vulnerabilities, users can safeguard their personal information and maintain device stability.
