UPI Set To Get A Speed Boost From June 16: Faster Transactions For PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm Users

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has announced a major upgrade to the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) system, promising faster and more reliable digital transactions starting June 16. The move is expected to significantly enhance user experience across popular platforms like PhonePe, Google Pay, and Paytm by reducing response times for key UPI services.

- NPCI has mandated a reduction in response times for several UPI APIs, including transaction status checks and reversals  
- The response time for checking transaction status and processing reversals will drop from 30 seconds to just 10 seconds  
- The Validate Address (Pay, Collect) API will now respond within 10 seconds, down from the earlier 15 seconds  
- These changes apply to remitter banks, beneficiary banks, and payment service providers (PSPs)
