VCI Global's Chennai Connection: The Birth of India's Semiconductor Industry

VCI Global and Kinesis Manufacturing Solutions are investing $3.5 million to set up India's first semiconductor wire factory in Chennai. The facility, which will start operations in Q3 2025, will manufacture semiconductor bonding wires, which are essential for chip production. The project is in line with India's ambition to lower import dependence and build a stronger semiconductor supply chain. The company will earn as much as $50 million in revenues from its first production line with a return on investment within 12 months, according to its future plans, which include expansion to four production lines.
