Veteran Journalist Virendra Sengar Passes Away, Journalism World Mourns

Senior journalist Virendra Sengar, a stalwart in Indian journalism, has passed away at the age of 70. He suffered a heart attack at his residence in Naukuchiatal, Uttarakhand, and breathed his last at Sushila Devi Government Hospital in Haldwani. His demise marks the end of an illustrious career spanning over four decades.
Born in Ghatampur, Kanpur, Sengar began his journalism journey in the early 1980s with the weekly 'Shaane Sahara.' Over the years, he worked with prominent media houses, including Amar Ujala, Sunday Mail, and Chauthi Duniya, earning acclaim for his investigative reporting. His in-depth coverage of events like the Hashimpura-Maliana firing and the Gujarat riots remains etched in the annals of Indian journalism.
Sengar is survived by his wife and daughter. His last rites will be performed in Noida, as per family sources. The journalism fraternity mourns the loss of a visionary who dedicated his life to truth and fearless reporting.
