Vitamin D-Day: Fermenta and NIFTEM-T Stir Up India’s Fortification Future

Fermenta Biotech Ltd has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with the National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management – Thanjavur (NIFTEM-T), a first for India's food fortification initiative. Arranged through the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), the collaboration is focused on fostering innovation and public health through evidence-based nutrition interventions.

Major highlights of the alliance:

Fermenta shall provide technical expertise and infrastructure to NIFTEM-T's Centre of Excellence for Food Fortification (CEFF).

The CEFF will focus on the manufacturing of fortified staples such as edible oil and wheat flour

The collaboration will facilitate business exposure, food startup incubation, and technology transfer for the students through internship.

Sponsored research projects will be conducted to build food processing and nutrition technologies
