Vodafone Idea Shares In Spotlight After ₹3,649-Crore AGR Relief

Vodafone Idea, India’s third-largest telecom operator, has long struggled with mounting AGR dues and operational losses. The latest relief package offers a structured repayment plan, narrowing quarterly losses and improving visibility for long-term sustainability.

Q3 Performance

In Q3 FY26, Vodafone Idea reported a net loss of ₹5,286 crore, narrowing from ₹6,609 crore a year earlier. Revenue rose marginally to ₹11,323 crore, supported by higher average revenue per user (ARPU) at ₹186 compared to ₹173 last year. Subscriber base stood at 192.9 million.

AGR Relief And Repayment Plan

The AGR reassessment reduces dues to ₹64,046 crore from ₹87,695 crore. The DoT has allowed a five-year moratorium, followed by staged payments until FY2041. This extended schedule enables Vodafone Idea to focus on 5G rollout and operational recovery.
