World Regards India as 'Vishwamitra': Sudhanshu Trivedi on PM Modi's Mauritius Award

BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi has welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's acceptance of Mauritius' highest civilian honor, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean, as a reflection of India's increasing influence in the world. Trivedi pointed out that Modi is the first Indian prime minister to be awarded this honor, adding to his tally of 21 nations that have given him their highest civilian honors. These are nine Muslim countries, symbolizing India's increased diplomatic prestige under Modi's rule. According to Trivedi, such acknowledgment makes India a "Vishwamitra," or global friend, in the international community.
