Aga Khan IV's Legacy: Global Spiritual Leader and Philanthropist Dies at 88

His Highness Prince Karim Al-Hussaini, Aga Khan IV, the 49th hereditary Imam of the Ismaili Muslims, passed away peacefully in Lisbon on February 4, 2025. The spiritual leader of 15 million Ismaili Muslims worldwide leaves behind a remarkable legacy of philanthropy and development through the Aga Khan Development Network, which employs 96,000 people globally. Worth over £11 billion, he was a close friend of the British Royal Family and held multiple citizenships. His successor will be announced following the reading of his will in accordance with Ismaili tradition.
