AI Job Replacement Concerns Surge, MOTN Poll Re

A recent Mood of the Nation (MOTN) poll reveals increasing concerns about artificial intelligence (AI) in the workforce, with 60% of participants believing that AI will lead to job losses in the future. This worry reflects global trends, as research suggests that up to 300 million jobs could be affected by AI automation in advanced economies. While some individuals are anxious about losing their jobs, others view this as a chance for enhancement and the emergence of new roles that require AI skills. Notably, 82% of those surveyed support Universal Basic Income (UBI) as a safeguard against potential disruptions from AI advancements. Experts point out that although AI may take over repetitive tasks, it also generates a need for specialized skills and new industries, presenting a mixed perspective on job security. By adapting to this change and gaining AI-related expertise, workers can reduce their risks.
