Amaravati Reborn: Andhra Pradesh Budget Allocates Rs 6,000 Crore for Capital Revival

The Andhra Pradesh government has revived the Amaravati capital scheme, setting aside Rs 6,000 crore in the budget for 2025-26. Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav made the major allocation under the state's Rs 3.22 lakh crore budget, marking a return to the one-time stalled scheme. The funding, backed by the Centre, World Bank, ADB, and HUDCO, is geared towards making Amaravati a economic hub of international standard infrastructure. The decision represents a sharp shift away from the three-capitals policy of the earlier government, reaffirming Amaravati's capital status and paving the way for its large-scale development.
