The much-anticipated inaugural Archery Premier League (APL) kicked off on Dussehra, October 2, 2025, at the Yamuna Sports Complex, Anand Vihar, New Delhi. Venue and Timing: Hosted at the Yamuna Sports Complex, New Delhi, from October 2 to 12, the APL features an 11-day intense competition schedule under floodlights, enhancing the spectator experience.
Tournament Format: Six franchises—Prithviraaj Yodhas (Delhi), Mighty Marathas (Maharashtra), Kakatiya Knights (Telangana), Rajputana Royals (Rajasthan), Chero Archers (Jharkhand), and Chola Chiefs (Tamil Nadu)—field teams of eight archers each, balanced between recurve and compound disciplines, with both male and female athletes competing together.
Elite Participation: Comprising 48 archers, including 36 Indians and 12 international stars—several ranked in the global top 10—the league is backed by World Archery, World Archery Asia, and India’s Sports Ministry, aiming to raise archery’s profile nationally and globally.
Unique Mixed Format: For the first time worldwide in archery, recurve and compound archers compete jointly, with faster-paced matches featuring 15 seconds per arrow versus the usual 20, intensifying the excitement.
