Ather Energy To Hike Scooter Prices By Up To ₹3,000 On Adverse Forex Impact

Ather Energy announced a price increase of up to ₹3,000 across all scooter models, effective January 1, driven by the pricier dollar, rising raw material costs, and global inflation in key electronic components. The adjustment spans the performance-focused 450 series and the family-centric Rizta, aligning pricing with the current cost structure and forex realities.

The company highlighted that prospective buyers can lock in current prices by booking before the hike and may also avail up to ₹20,000 in benefits via its Electric December scheme, available in select cities. Current ex-showroom prices range approximately from ₹1,14,546 to ₹1,82,946 (New Delhi), offering consumers a window to optimize purchase timing ahead of the new year.

Ather noted it has achieved 99% localization for mechanical and structural parts (excluding lithium-ion cells), which buffers some cost pressures but does not fully offset currency-driven increases in imported components. The brand’s recent performance includes a 67% year-on-year rise in sales to 65,595 units and market share expansion by 530 bps to 17.4% in Q2 FY26, underscoring robust demand despite input volatility.
