Atishi writes to CM Rekha Gupta over promise of Rs 2,500 monthly aid for women, BJP slams AAP

Atishi, former Delhi Chief Minister, has written to newly appointed Chief Minister Rekha Gupta questioning the delay in the introduction of the promised Rs 2,500 monthly aid scheme for women. Atishi blamed the BJP for not clearing the scheme in their first cabinet meeting, as had been assured by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an election rally. She has sought a meeting with Gupta to raise the issue, claiming Delhi women feel cheated. The BJP has reacted by claiming that the scheme will be rolled out from March as assured. This has generated a political controversy regarding the keeping of election promises.
