Atishi's Budget Burn: 'A Decade of Transparency Shattered

In a surprising turn of events, the Delhi government presented its 2025-26 budget without issuing an Economic Survey, which has led to sharp criticism from the opposition. Atishi, the Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, suggested there were concerns about the action, noting, "In last 10 years we have never seen that the budget has been presented without an Economic Survey." Atishi stated, to be transparent, that the government appears to be hiding the actual economic and financial situation, calling the budget "baseless and unrealistic," and challenged the BJP-led government to release the Economic Survey, telling the press that it would silence the discussion about Delhi's finances. She also criticized reductions in education and health funding, saying that it undermines public service.
