Big Boost for Farmers: Govt Hikes Raw Jute MSP to ₹5,650/Quintal for 2025-26 Season

The Indian government has approved a significant increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for raw jute, raising it by Rs 315 to Rs 5,650 per quintal for the 2025-26 marketing season. This decision, made by the Union Cabinet, aims to ensure farmers receive a return of 66.8% over the average production cost, supporting around 40 lakh farming families reliant on jute cultivation. The MSP hike reflects the government's commitment to enhancing agricultural profitability and sustainability. Additionally, the Cabinet reviewed achievements under the National Health Mission (NHM) during its extended tenure.
