These data centers are essential for industries such as BFSI, healthcare, and government e-services.

Smart Homes and Solar Adoption:

There is a rooftop solar revolution in Tier-2 cities like Indore and Lucknow. Over 3.6 GW of solar rooftop capacity has already been commissioned, in the wake of government initiatives like PM Surya Ghar Yojana with up to 40% subsidy. Solar has become affordable and increasingly popular among home residents due to virtual surveys, mobile-based maintenance, and affordable packages.

Job Creation & Digital Talent:

Recruitment is booming with a growth of 42% in Tier-2 job vacancies. Double the pace of metros, they encompass IT, banking, and industry majors like Infosys and Genpact, increasing campus presence in pursuit of a large, skilled, and aspirational talent pool.

Smart Delivery & E-commerce:

Tier-2 cities account for 35% of India's e-commerce market currently, and this is expected to rise to 50% by 2026. Better logistics, low-cost land, internet penetration, and government-led urban infrastructure projects like the Smart Cities Mission are fueling this boom.
