This public-private-partnership (PPP) initiative is set to transform waste management and city gas production under India's Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0.

Key Project Details:

The ₹28-crore project has been awarded by the Tiruchirappalli City Corporation via a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) dated September 22, 2025, received on October 6.
The plant will be implemented under the widely adopted DBFOT (Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer) model for a concession period of 20 years, ensuring long-term engagement and accountability.
The OEWPL-SREPL consortium holds respective stakes of 51% and 49%. A Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) will be created as the Concessionaire entity.
Full project commissioning is targeted within 19 months following the concession agreement, which must be signed within 30 days of the LoA.
