BJP Sweeps Uttarakhand Local Body Polls in Historic Victory, Congress Draws Blank
In a decisive victory, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) dominated the Uttarakhand urban local body elections by winning 10 out of 11 mayoral seats The remaining seat was secured by an Independent candidate in Srinagar, Pauri district. The election, which saw a 65.4% voter turnout, marked a significant setback for Congress, which failed to secure any mayoral positions despite winning two seats in the 2018 polls. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attributed this success to the party's triple-engine government approach focused on uninterrupted development.
