State-of-the-Art Facility: The Lucknow BrahMos unit, inaugurated in May 2025 in Sarojini Nagar, is equipped with advanced systems for missile assembly, avionics integration, quality checks, and final trials, allowing for complete missile construction and testing.

Significant Manufacturing Hub: This facility is the first in the Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor to carry out the full spectrum of missile production—from system manufacturing through to final testing.

Missile Capability: BrahMos is the world’s fastest supersonic cruise missile, capable of reaching speeds around Mach 3 and designed for precision strikes across varied terrains and conditions.

Operational Readiness: After mandatory trials and quality approvals, the first missiles produced here will be inducted for deployment by the Indian Armed Forces.

Booster Building Inauguration: At the event, the booster building will also be inaugurated, with live demonstrations showcasing the booster docking process critical for missile propulsion.

Other Facility Highlights: Attendees will review detailed presentations covering airframe and avionics, pre-dispatch inspection (PDI), warhead assembly, and the BrahMos simulator, spotlighting the unit’s comprehensive operational capabilities.

Strategic Importance: The event marks a crucial step toward India’s ‘Make in India’ and self-reliance goals, with Lucknow emerging as a key defence production and innovation centre.

Future Outlook: The plant plans to scale production from an initial 80-110 missiles to 150 annually, catering to both domestic defence needs and potential exports.
