Breadwinners in Heels: How Indian Women Are Redefining Business Leadership

According to a recent survey, 37% of Indian women entrepreneurs are the sole breadwinners in their families, which is a testament to their pivotal position in sustaining families and stimulating local economies. With mixed economic mood, 81% of these women-owned businesses expect growth in the next 3-5 years, beating their male counterparts.

The research also identified that digital technology is enabling women entrepreneurs to grow their businesses effectively. 79% of the participants stated that entrepreneurship has improved their lifestyle, providing them with fulfillment and empowerment.

Laura Messerschmidt, GoDaddy's President of International Markets, highlighted the role of AI-enabled tools in allowing women entrepreneurs to dedicate more time to business growth, family, or upskilling.

This trend represents a transformation in conventional gender roles and highlights the growing economic power of women in India's small business sector.
