Britannia’s Leadership Shakeup: Rakshit Hargave to Take Over as CEO & MD; Varun Berry Resigns

In a significant leadership transition, Britannia Industries Ltd has announced that Varun Berry will step down from his position as Executive Vice-Chairman, Managing Director (MD), and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective November 10, 2025. Berry, who has been with Britannia for 13 years, played a key role in expanding the company’s food business and diversifying its portfolio.

The Board has appointed Rakshit Hargave as the new CEO and MD, with his tenure commencing from December 15, 2025, for a five-year term. Hargave, formerly CEO of Birla Opus, brings extensive experience in scaling businesses, supply chain management, and market expansion, having worked with leading firms like Hindustan Unilever, Jubilant Foodworks, and Nestlé India.

Meanwhile, Natarajan Venkataraman, Britannia’s Executive Director and CFO, will serve as the interim CEO till Hargave takes charge. This leadership change is aligned with Britannia’s strategic focus on innovation, market growth, and strengthening its presence across categories and geographies.
