Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has released the updated Market-Wide Position Limits (MWPL) for shares under the Scheme of Securities Lending and Borrowing Scheme (SLBS) for March 2025. These limits are significant to ensure market stability by capping the maximum open interest in specific shares. MWPL is 20% of the free-float market cap of a share so that no single party would be in a position to corner an abnormally large position. Investors and traders are warned to closely monitor such limits, as a crossing of 95% of the MWPL triggers a stopping of further trading in derivatives of the concerned securities.
