Buckle Up for Higher Fares: Delhi Airport Proposes Tariff Hikes

Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) has suggested an increase in tariff by which airfares are likely to see a marginal rise. Domestic airfares are likely to go up by 1.5-2%, and international fares by less than 1%, says DIAL CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar. The planned increase is expected to increase the Yield Per Passenger (YPP) from Rs 145 to Rs 370. DIAL has filed a tariff card with the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) for April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2029. The operator says the increase is for it to be financially sustainable and make ongoing investments in the airport.
